Encasing Beads & Beyond (April 14~15)

A two day immersive beadmaking experience.  

You may have the word encasing by bead makers and flameworkers, whereby beautiful beads and  objects are submerged in a clear or colored transparent, mystified and magnified simultaneously in this water like and ethereal and cosmic like at times. For a total of seven varied outcomes and techniques in encasing.

Day1 

We will begin with:

• How to prepare your clear and colored transparent rods for increased clarity and ease of use.  Identifying the best clear COE 104 glass for encasing.
• Creating a string of basic encased spacer beads to use as a reference and starting point. Encasing with solid rods and frit as a second technique variation.
• Striped encased Bead
• Basic encasing for a Calla Lily Bead.
• Triangle bead

Day 2

We will continue to build on our learnings and:

• master the Rainbow bead
• make a Triangle Dots bead
• learn how to make Latticino cane and  an encased Spiral Disk bead
